Brooklyn College celebrates 75th Anniversary Midwood Brooklyn Campus May 2005. Founded on May 15th 1930 as 1st Public Coeducational Liberal Arts College NYC. First President Dr William A Boyland President FD Roosevelt visited campus Federal Government contributed 5 million dollars to help construction of the campus creating jobs during the depression. 75th celebration on the beautiful campus included vintage cars, and large three tiered "cake" designed by Kip Marsh topped with replica of library cupola and wrapped with colorful murals showing landmarks of Brooklyn including the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Brooklyn College Buildings, GAP arch, Coney Island Cyclone. College President Christoph Kimmich and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined in the celebration
